The CONSTITUTION of NLD LA UK

Preamble

After violence destroying the mass uprising in 1988, National League for Democracy was formed on September 27th 1988 to fulfill the desire of the entire nation and to gather the scatter democratic forces with all nationalities and stratum of the society.

Although the 1990 May 27th Multi Party General Election had finished, People Assemble hadn’t called for and instead most of the elected parliament member and different levels of party organizers were arrested. So some of them fled to the liberated area to continue their political tasks and form National Coalition Government of the Union of Burma NCGUB on December 18th 1990 and National League for Democracy (Liberated Area) on February 14th 1991.

Then National League for Democracy (Liberated Area) was formed its International Branches according to the NLD/LA’s Constitution. So we NLD/LA U.K lay down this Constitution based on the principle of inside NLD and border based NLD/LA.
